Douglas L. Peterson 61 of Bloomingdale, Ohio passed away May 24, 2021 at Acuity Specialty Hospital, Weirton. He was presbyterian by faith.
He was born October 31, 1959 in Mckeesport, PA, a son of the late Robert "Pete" and Mary Louise "Mary Lou" (James) Peterson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Mike Peterson, with whom he shared a special lifelong bond.
Doug was a part of his family owned and operated business, Peterson's Carpet City for over 40 years. Doug had a great love and passion for flying and aviation. He was loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR. Anyone that knew Doug, knew he had a sweet and loving soul. He was one of the good guys.
He is survived by his wife, Boni (Warder) Peterson; brothers, Jeff Peterson and Terry (Jamie) Peterson; sisters, Susan Peterson and Robin Travis; special "sister", Amber Travis; loving sister-in-law, Lisa Peterson; his adoring Aunts, Dot, Linda and Wilma; nieces and nephews, Jessie, Danny, Jamie, Tara, Brandi, and Todd; and many great nieces and nephews and a slew of cousins.
Family and friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 1pm until time of services at 3pm with Rev. Tiffany Manley officiating.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Trinity West ICU and Acuity Specialty hospital for their special care.
