Tribune file photo Whether he brought them into this world, served as their family doctor, worked with them or was their neighbor or acquaintance, Dr. Kenneth Bobb made a positive impact. On Thursday, Bobb died at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. He was 93. Bobb began his general practice of medicine with obstetrics and anesthesia at 410 S. Chestnut St., Seymour, on Aug. 5, 1955, and remained there until 1999. According to his obituary, approximately 20% of his practice time was devoted to general anesthesia, and it's estimated his number of cases was in excess of 10,000. Meanwhile, the estimated number of obstetrical deliveries was 2,000. James Lucas said Bobb delivered him and was his doctor until he retired. "He was the best," Lucas said. Rural Health Services breaks ground for new women's center - Yahoo News

Oct. 26—Tuesday marked a new chapter for Rural Health Services, as it officially broke ground for a new addition to its family. The medical center is building a Maternal and Child Health Center, to be completed in fall 2022. The 18,800-square-foot facility will house Rural Health's women's services, pediatrics and imaging departments. The new center will be located on the right side of the property as people pull into the parking lot at 1000 Clyburn Place, behind Aiken High School. Carolyn Emanuel-McClain, CEO of Rural Health Services, spoke during the ceremony about the need for expansion. "You may wonder why Rural Health Services would need another facility after opening the Clyburn Center (a little over) six years ago," Emanuel-McClain said. "Well, about the same time as COVID showed up, we began converting our inside storage (into) patient care rooms and space. At this time, we have no space for storage whatsoever." Teladoc takes its primary care service nationwide with Aetna slated to roll out in early 2022 - FierceHealthcare

Teladoc Health is taking its primary care pilot nationwide, expanding it to commercial health plans, employers and other payers. The telehealth giant piloted its virtual primary care program, called Primary360, in 2019 with the aim of early detection of chronic disease. The service now offers 70 distinct diagnoses such as hypertension and diabetes, Teladoc CEO Jason Gorevic said during a J.P. Morgan virtual presentation in January. Teladoc says it has signed several Fortune 1000 employers onto the new primary care service, with other large employers and health plans such as Aetna launching nationwide in early 2022. The company is pitching Primary360 as a way to expand access to primary care in the U.S. Teladoc's pilot programs have shown that two-thirds of members previously lacked traditional primary care and are now benefitting from longitudinal relationships with physician-led care teams.
